Hendon Chubb- Paintings and Mezzotints" will show from August 8 to September 3. Hendon doesn't fit into any mold. His work is not abstract, not primitive, not surrealistic, but people have seen elements of all of these in his paintings and even in his mezzotints. A reception will be held on Sunday, August 10 from 4 to 6.

September Events:

Cost By Roxana Robinson.

There's a pitch-perfect passage late in Roxana Robinson'sbook, COST new novel in which the director of a rehab program meets with the relatives of a heroin addict to prepare them for an intervention. Their task, he explains, is not to judge the young man, whose habit has become life-threatening. " 'What we're here to do is offer support.' He paused. 'And love.' The word: it sizzled in the silence like a live wire, electric, dangerous. Love was not a word their family used. It was not a word they would tolerate from a stranger."

Ms. Robinson will be speaking at our Library Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
