Did you know?
You can order your books online

This web site has several features that will help you utilize the Library in a practical way. Apart from keeping you up-to-date on current developments, on events and on additions to the collections, it can be used as a tool to browse the catalog and order copies of books from the convenience of your own home. Because of the computer technology involved, you will even be able to find out, if the books are out and when they are due to be returned. The key to this feature is the word Catalog on the upper left hand corner of every page. Just click it and get access to the service.

The Cornwall Free Library is connected to a cooperative called Bibliomation, just like many other Public Libraries in Connecticut. You can access their catalogs this way as well. One of the advantages: Libraries tend to emphasize different aspect of the book world. For example. the Scoville Libray in Salisbury has a good selection of large-print books, which you can receive through the inter-library system. Please ask the Librarian for the specifics.

ArtWorks! Festival of Children's Book Illustration

Art works on display at the library

The art exhibit and sale continue through June 30th during regular library hours. You won’t want to miss this extraordinary show and the opportunity to purchase works by some of the country’s foremost illustrators, while benefiting the library at the same time.

June 2nd was a day full of fun for hundreds of children and adults as they attended one of many, many events of ARTWORKS. The library was filled with art by area illustrators, many of them for sale. The art exhibit will continue through June 30th.

Illustrators were on hand throughout the day to sign books. Four workshops entertained children all day, and adults had as much fun listening to the panel of illustrators, moderated by Davyne Verstandig. The day ended with a special presentation by Mary Pope Osborne and Will Osborne.

Many, many thanks to the dozens of volunteers and staff who helped make the event happen.

New Web Archive

The content of the Library
website is constantly
changing, because it
needs to inform first
and foremost about
current and recent events.
But we would like to
keep relevant items

available for longer
periods of time.

To manage the amount of
data and avoid creating
confusion at the same
time, we will create an
Archive feature
in the future. As a first
step we simply created
a list of links you can use
to find material from the
past.

The newest link at
the bottom will
get you to a newly
created special page with
recommendations

in 2006. You might

remember them: Those
suggestions had been
published on
our monthly newsletter
